If starting a company was easy, everyone would do it. If changing an industry were easy, everyone would do it.
But it’s not…and they don’t.
Which is why I am so proud of the company we are building at Aspect43.
So what are we trying to do here? Quite simply, we want to change the world of work. In our careers, we’ve built tech companies from scratch. Done total turnarounds to profitability. Launched global product lines in enterprise vendors. Worked with more than 500 vendors and investors and surveyed more than 100,000 business and HR leaders around the globe.
And unfortunately, we’ve cleaned up a lot of messes left by other advisors and influencers on product, positioning, and go-to-market strategy along the way.
I spent years researching both practitioners and vendors to understand what was missing. What they wish they had, what was working and what wasn’t about their relationships with influencers, analysts and most importantly each other. Aspect43 was designed off of the interviews and feedback of nearly 400 stakeholders.
We want to change how analysts operate in the world of HR tech, building on the networks we have with solution providers and end-users to make WorkTech (and WorkTech companies) better. We are working closely with solution providers on research and focus groups as well as helping them with their product strategy and positioning. We know that to enable practitioners better we need to ensure products and sales teams are better designed for the user.
We have nothing to sell end-users – we don’t do selection or implementation or HR strategy consulting and all of our research is free thanks to the membership base of vendors. In fact, you don’t even have to fill out a form to download our in-house research. Information empowers change and we want to be part of the change. If you need added support, we have lots of friends who do these important things and are happy to introduce you to them.
Our value proposition to end-users is bringing together all the resources they need to educate themselves, their business partners, and their teams on HR tech in one place, for free.
The technology to make a website do what we wanted to do at Aspect43 didn’t exist when we started this journey. We brought together custom design with back-end management software that powers all of the free resources made available to the HR tech public on our site. They are free because of our members – solution provider companies that believe in democratizing access to information and education as much as we do. We’d particularly like to thank our Founding Members: Equifax, Greenhouse, Immedis, Limeade, meQuilibrium, Proactive Talent, and Worqdrive. They believed in this vision when it was still exactly that, and we couldn’t have done it without them.
Since then other vendors and a number of startups joined the startup cohort we ran through spring as we were getting ready to launch the site and open memberships up to the market. Some of these amazing companies will be part of a startup innovation day we are hosting on July 7th to show off what they are doing to industry analysts, influencers and investors. (If you are interested in sitting in on the demo’s/pitches or being part of our Summer/Fall cohort let us know)
The site allows members to self-manage the information they include in a variety of resources. These include:
- Our Blog – the latest news, insights and thought leadership from A43 analysts and our members.
- The Library – a curated collection of whitepapers, ebooks, case studies, and more from providers and A43 to help you make more informed decisions about the how, what, and why of HR Technology.
- Podcast Finder – a hub of some of our favorite podcasts in the HR technology space..
- Event Calendar – an industry-wide calendar of events, chock-full of educational webinars, conferences, and learning sessions.
- Provider Directory – a comprehensive list of our active members in the HR tech community.
- Job Board – the only job board exclusively for jobs at HR tech vendors!
- Industry News – the latest press releases and industry news in HR technology.
- Focus Groups – a chance for HR tech buyers and users to make their voices heard and get paid for their insights.
Our goal for you.
Get involved. That is all.
If you are a practitioner, sign up for the newsletter and see when we will have surveys coming out or when there are focus groups you can be paid to be a part of. We need your voice to really change how the technology is being marketed, sold, presented and most importantly built. Product Roadmaps matter and too many are missing the voice of the people that matter most.
If you are a vendor, join our membership. It is a low cost option to help fund free research in the space – but it also gives you an opportunity to share your thought leadership and market education based content (no sales stuff here!) with an audience of practitioners that are looking to learn and grow.
This has been a long time coming, and a lot of work. And the work won’t stop here. I am thrilled to have Mollie Lombardi join the team right away as the Chief Research Officer and work with me on a new vision of what analyst reports should look like. She understood the vision and as a company we firmly believe that better educated practitioners make better strategic decisions, have higher adoption rates, and show better ROI for their companies.
We know that to change an industry, we have to do things differently than everyone else. So here we go – and we hope you’ll come along for the ride. To learn more, or to be a part of the change, please send me an email!
